I was born and raised in a small community in Ohio. It wasn’t a wealthy community but certainly comfortable. I was fortunate enough to learn when I was young that giving back is and taking care of those who are less fortunate is a core value. When I started traveling to different countries my eyes were opened by what we take for granted every day. A roof over our head, hot water when you turn on the faucet, shoes that aren’t falling apart, food to eat and an overabundance of school supplies when we needed something.

I have the great privilege of being able to travel to the Caribbean and Mexico and offer support for these children, it is a humbling moment for anyone. And a blessing. I recently returned from the Dominican Republic where we delivered school supplies to one of our partner schools. While we didn’t get an opportunity to meet the kids we did receive pictures of the kids with the schools supplies. To see the smiles on their faces I instantly knew that they were so grateful for the supplies. To be able to give back is a rewarding opportunity and I can’t wait to meet more kids in my future travels!

As a new board member of Beach Bum CARES and I am looking forward to helping in any and every way possible to ensure the success of this program. The lives that we can touch and the hearts that we can fill with joy makes this an opportunity I don’t want to miss!
